This Caribbean Island Is “Your New Love Language.” How St Kitts Is Making a Push to Attract Couples
Wellness retreats. Organic gardens. Farm-to-table dinners. Hiking trails. Green mountains and champagne-colored beaches.
It’s one of the most romantic places in the Caribbean, and now the island of St Kitts is making a big push to court more couples to the destination.
St Kitts has launched a campaign called “St Kitts: Your New Love Language,” and it puts the island’s under-the-radar, luxurious, intimate vibes on full display.
Whether you’re exploring the rainforest, trying the island’s new local rum or staying at one of the Caribbean’s top luxury resorts (if you haven’t been to the Park Hyatt, you have to go), it’s a very different, very unique Caribbean destination.
The vibe is all about the absence of crowds and the perfect escape, says St Kitts Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson.
The island is inviting couples to “explore fresh ways to connect, escape, and celebrate their love on our island,” she says.
Even better? It’s getting easier to visit St Kitts than ever before, with several hotels on the island offering special couples-focused programs.
At the Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort, for example (rooms from $879), you can get a free bottle of sparkling wine when you check in, or take a couples-focused “make your own scrub” activity that helps you create your own personal scrub. We’ve stayed here in the past, and it’s arguably the most romantic place on the island, set on a hillside with large cottages that boast their own private plunge pools.
At the aforementioned Park Hyatt St Kitts (rooms right now from $497 per night), where we’ve stayed and loved it, you can book your own “starlight” three-course dinner, with a special package that includes everything from daily breakfast to a couples massage.
The Koi Resort ($152 per night), which is part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, gives you an extra 5,000 Hilton Honors Points if you book for three nights or more.
And at the Ramada by Wyndham St Kitts Resort, you can go for a special “love at the pool” promotion and get day passes. Welcome drinks and poolside service. Rooms from $160.
