A New Turks and Caicos Resort Just Opened With Boat Houses and “Sky Villas”

The new resort in Turks and Caicos has its own lagoon.

Boat houses. Residential-style rooms. A private swimming lagoon. The newest resort in Turks and Caicos isn’t quite like anything else in Providenciales, and that’s what makes the South Bank so fascinating.

The new resort, which officially opened on Nov. 1, is a unique concept for the Turks and Caicos Islands; it’s set away from traditional beach destinations like Grace Bay, with 92 villas and units in a plum perch on 31 acres on the south coast of Provo — at the very southern tip of Long Bay.

It’s surrounded on all sides by the water — meaning what the resort describes as 2,200 feet of ocean frontage and a setting that’s all about getting out on the water.

You can choose from “boat houses,” resort villas and “sky villas,” with a mix of layouts ranging from one to six bedrooms.

An “ocean estate.”

The boat houses actually come with their own private docks right on the marina. For a bit more privacy, you can choose one of the lagoon villas or the larger, four-to-six bedroom ocean estates.

It’s a residential resort — in keeping with the design of most resorts in Turks and Caicos, meaning you get amenities like full kitchens in your room. There’s also a large marine right on site. Other amenities include a fully-equipped gym, a bar, a spa and a clubhouse-restaurant.

It’s part of the Grace Bay Resorts portfolio, which you may know for resorts like the Grace Bay Club and another new Turks and Caicos resort, Rock House.

The whole resort is surrounded by water in some form.

So what does it cost? A harbor-view “boat house” king room will run you $888 per night right now, down from rack rates of $1,366 thanks to an opening offer. The Boat House one-bedrooms come with full kitchens, free Wi-Fi, minibars and open-plan living rooms, among other features.

If you go for one of the Lagoon Villas, the prices rise to $2,048 per night. If you’re staying in one of the Ocean Estates, that means a rate of $3,608 per night.

It’s another big addition to Turks and Caicos, which will soon welcome another new-build resort, The Strand, which is opening its doors on Nov. 23. That resort is also designed in a residential format.

What are some of our other favorite places to stay in Turks and Caicos right now? If it’s an all-inclusive you’re looking for, there’s nowhere better than the stunning Ambergris Cay private-island resort. For a unique, lush, family-friendly retreat, we love the Kokomo Botanical Resort.

For a classic beach vacation, go for The Sands or the rebranded Regent Grand.
