Ultra-low-cost carrier Avelo, which in the beginning stages of a broader Caribbean expansion, is doubling its flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The airline, which is operating the only service between New Haven, Conn. and Puerto Rico with its Tweed Airport-Luis Munoz Marin International Airport flights, is doubling its frequency to Stan Juan beginning in November.
The expansion will officially take effect on Nov. 8, the company confirmed.
That will mean four flights per week between New Haven and San Juan, with service on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Earlier this year, the carrier announced plans to launch new nonstop flights from Tweed to both Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cancun, Mexico.
