This Puerto Rico Hotel Has New Management — And It’s Getting a New Look, Too
Puerto Rico’s Hotel Miramar, a boutique property between Condado and Old San Juan, is now under new management, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The hotel is now managed by Remington Hospitality, which has been steadily growing its footprint in the Caribbean region in the last two years.
The boutique property will soon be getting a “refresh,” according to Eli Fuentes, the hotel’s general manager.
The hotel’s location is “unmatched,” Fuentes said in a statement.
“We’re excited to enhance this esteemed property, with a comprehensive refresh that will reintroduce it as one of San Juan’s standout boutique hotels,” he said this week.
Right now, if you visit the hotel you get amdenites like a rooftop deck, a cafe (which is currently closed but soon to reopen), and a fitness center.
The project will include a full modernization of the hotel and, in the shorter term, a revamped food and beverage program. The broader plan? To update the property into a “key player in San Juan’s rapidly evolving hospitality landscape.” Indeed, Puerto Rico has been one of the hottest hotel markets in the Caribbean — and in the United States, since the pandemic, meaning rising competition and a very tight hotel market.
Remington’s role is to “help Hotel Miramar reach its full potential while maintaining the integrity and character that have made it a beloved property for decades,” said Richard Garcia, who is the vice president of operations for the region at Remington.
“The San Juan market presents incredible growth opportunities, and we’re thrilled to be part of its transformation.”
