Puerto Rico’s high-volume tourism hub is, unsurprisingly, San Juan. It’s where the vast majority of travelers go on their vacations, and it’s an urban, cosmopolitan getaway with some beaches tucked in. 

But Puerto Rico is so much more. That includes the west coast, with its colorful, funky, fun-loving towns like Rincon and Aguadilla. 

It’s the latter that’s home to the west coast’s major airport, and it’s soon getting flights on a new airline: SKYhigh Dominicana, the fast-growing Dominica carrier that is ramping up service around the Caribbean region. 

“Soon we will fly to the beautiful Aguadilla, Puerto Rico,” the company confirmed this week in a statement. “We’re excited to announce our new destination.”

SKYhigh will be flying the service from its hub in Santo Domingo. 

It’s part of a broader expansion for the airline that includes a relaunch of its flights between the Dominican Republic’s capital and Santiago de Cuba, the popular city on the far eastern coast of that island. 

With the vast number of flights between the United States and Santo Domingo, the airline is creating a unique new way to connect to a number of destinations that are not so easy to reach with direct flights. 

That will soon include Aguadilla.
