Club Med’s Cancun All-Inclusive Is Getting a Makeover, With Plans for a 2025 Reveal

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 20, 2024

It’s been nearly a half century since Club Med opened its first resort in the Mexican Caribbean (1976 to be exact), and now the company is planning a big renovation to its Cancun resort.

In what the company is calling a “multi-phased” project, the resort will see a host of upgrades and renovations over the next 12 months. That includes the creation of a new infinity pool, a new beach bar and what Club Med is calling a “Tulum” style aesthetic.

So what else is changing? The resort is upgrading its deluxe rooms, along with its “sports and wellness island,” along with a new-look Family Oasis.

Club Med is also unveiling something called “Baby Club Med,” with activities aimed at kids aged four to 23 months.

So will the resort be open this whole time? Yes, says Club Med, with a target completion date of July of next year.
