Caribbean Airlines Is Adding a New Island: Tortola, BVI
The beach bars, the charter yachts, the private islands. The British Virgin Islands is among the more fascinating destinations in the Caribbean — but it’s not always easy to get to.
Enter Caribbean Airlines, which just announced plans to launch service to Tortola beginning in October.
The new service puts Tortola in the heart of its regional network, with flights to Tortola from Barbados, Antigua and San Juan, Puerto Rico (the latter another new destination for the company).
The new flights kick off on Oct. 14, with San Juan-Tortola flights on Mondays and Wednesdays (along with Antigua-Tortola flights), along with Barbados and San Juan flights to and from Tortola on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The new destination is “is a significant step in our growth strategy, and we are committed to providing seamless travel experiences for our passengers,” Caribbean Airlines CEO Marvin Medera said in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal.
“By the end of this year, Caribbean Airlines will link the Spanish, French, Dutch and English-speaking Caribbean with each other, as well as the North American Diaspora, and business and leisure travelers who wish to explore our vibrant region,” he said.
