The Caribbean Tourism Organization has shared the initial lineup of presenters for its upcoming State of the Industry Conference in Grand Cayman early next month.
This year’s SOTIC, which is being hosted at the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort and Spa, is being held under the theme of “Caribbean Tourism: Fueling Our Lifeblood” — a crucial one for an industry that is indeed the economic engine of the wider region.
So who’s slated to speak?
This year’s lineup is a deep one, with everyone from the Inter-American Development Bank’s Anton Edmunds to renowned hotelier Janelle Hopkin of the Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada. Hopkin was named Caribbean Hotelier of the Year in this past year’s Caribbean Travel Awards.
Other speakers include Nick Beaulieu, senior director of marketing at Sojern; Robert Cole, founder and CEO of RockCheetah; Melanie Chen and Eugene Tiah of the Caribbean Energy Chamber; Christus Gil of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s AI Task Force; and Richard Moss, senior sales manager for North America with the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority.
“We are delighted to welcome such an exceptional group of industry leaders and innovators to this year’s SOTIC,” said Dona Regis-Prosper, CTO’s Secretary-General and CEO, in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal. “Their diverse perspectives and wealth of knowledge will undoubtedly provide attendees with invaluable insights and practical strategies to navigate the evolving tourism landscape. This caliber of speakers is a testament to SOTIC’s standing as the premier event for shaping the future of Caribbean tourism.”
