Margaritaville Just Launched Its First-Ever Cozumel Cruises

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 15, 2024

The growing Margaritaville at Sea cruise brand has hit another milestone: launching its first-ever cruise to Cozumel, Mexico on the new Islander cruise ship.

Margaritaville at Sea Islander, the company’s second cruise ship, set sail this weekend out of Tampa Bay for a four-night trip including stops in Key West and Cozumel.

Next year, the ship will add more stops in the western Caribbean, including Belize, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.

“We’re thrilled to kick off the summer by giving guests the opportunity to experience the Margaritaville state of mind on the open ocean like never before,” said Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea. “The Islander offers an entirely new way to float into island time, providing couples, families, and friends an unforgettable journey with new spaces and experiences to explore, making the voyage just as enjoyable as the destinations.”

So what do you need to know about the new ship?

Islander  has six eateries, 11 bars what the company calls the “only three-story LandShark Bar at Sea.” And yes, the resort also has signatures like the JWB Steakhouse and Cheeseburger in Paradise. There are also two live shows: Coney Tonkin’ at Sea, and Caribbean Heat Remix.

For younger guests, the ship has a special playground, something called “corn hole meets mini-golf” and circus-themed “defying gravity” experiences.

Margaritaville at Sea first launched in 2022 with cruises to Grand Bahama on its “Paradise” ship.
