Marriott has just opened its second Courtyard-branded hotel in the Dominican Republic’s fast-growing capital, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The company has debuted the new Courtyard by Marriott Santo Domingo Piantini, a development by Real Hotels and Resorts.
The hotel, which welcomed its first guests this week, has 160 rooms in the Piantini neighborhood of Santo Domingo, a city that has been seeing its tourism numbers — and interest from travelers — continue to grow in recent years, particularly with the wave of new flights to the destination.
It’s a classic Courtyard, with its signature breakfast buffet, rooms with fridges and 55-inch TVs and free Wi-Fi.
The Piantini outpost has a rooftop bar on the 17th floor called Bistro Bar, with all-day food and a selection of cocktails, beer and wine. The hotel also has a fitness center open 24 hours and a small meeting space.
