What the new Riu will look like.

Riu Hotels and Resorts is adding another new resort in Jamaica this year, with the planned debut of the Riu Palace Aquarelle resort near Montego Bay.

The 753-room, family-friendly property will be set on White Bay in the town of Falmouth, an area that’s considered part of the growing destination of “greater” Montego Bay.

Rooms will range from junior suites to large king suites; the hotel will have a collection of swim-up options.

If you’ve been to a Riu, you know what to expect: a traditional all-inclusive experience, with meals and beverages included, delivered in the brand’s simple, effective. And yes, that includes their famous drink dispensers in the rooms.

The resort will have four pools and a splash park.

The all-inclusive resort will have four pools, one of Riu’s signature Splash Water World water parks, and a wellness and fitness center.

Dining concepts will range from an Asian eatery called Kyoto to an Italian spot called Napoli, along with several bars and lounges (including two swim-up bars) and a steakhouse, among others.

The hotel will be opening its doors in 2024, Jamaica tourism officials said this week.

It will be the seventh Riu-branded resort in Jamaica, and the first in the historic town of Falmouth, a town that’s increasingly on the radar of hotel developers but is best known for its Royal Caribbean cruise port.
