It’s the coolest hotel brand in Costa Rica: Nayara, which has three hotels in the country and recently expanded with an overwater resort in Panama, too. Now, Nayara has reopened its original Costa Rica hotel after a complete rebuild.

The new-look Nayara Gardens just rebuilt all of its rooms, unveiling new “Arenal Casitas,” all with their own private decks, glass walls, colorful interiors and, most notably, plunge pools surrounded by the rainforest.

It’s part of a bigger makeover at the resort, which now includes locally-made artisan goods in the shop, a new “family education center” and a new pool.

The hotel’s Asia Luna restaurant, a Nikkei-style eatery, has also been totally reconstructed, while the spa is set to open after a total renovation of its own.

If you stay at Nayara Gardens, you also get access to the hotel’s sister properties: Nayara Springs and the Nayara Tended Camp (just keep in mind that the Nayara Springs hotel is adults-only).

The hotel is set about 2.5 hours from both the San Jose and Liberia airports.
