six senses la sagesse

The Six Senses La Sagesse resort in Grenada.

The Caribbean hotel pipeline isn’t slowing down, and that means another wave of hotels set to open their doors in 2024. Our list of the hottest new hotels for 2024 includes some that just opened their doors at the end of last year accompanied by new resorts set to begin welcoming guests at some point in 2024.

These are the Caribbean hotels we’re most excited about, from Grenada to Isla Mujeres to Antigua and St Vincent and the Grenadines. Here are the best new Caribbean hotels for 2024.

The Verandah Antigua This all-inclusive beach resort in Antigua recently completed a dramatic transformation that turned the property into the hottest new adults-only resort in the whole Caribbean, from an exciting new culinary program to modern luxury suites. That’s along with two magnificent beaches, four pools and the coolest mini-golf course you’ll find in the Caribbean. Already open

Six Senses La Sagesse Grenada The most anticipated new hotel to open in Grenada in years, this will be the first-ever Six Senses-branded resort in the Caribbean, set on one of the island’s most stunning stretches of sand, La Sagesse. And it’s got the pedigree: developer Range Developments is behind some of the Caribbean’s top projects from the last decade, from the Park Hyatt St Kitts to the InterContinental Dominica. Opening date: May 2024

Sandals St Vincent.

Sandals St Vincent In a major coup for still-under-the-radar St Vincent, Sandals is opening its first-ever resort on the island, with the highly anticipated Sandals St Vincent resort. There will be a whopping 15 different room categories at the property, set on 50 acres straddled between mountain ranges, rainforest and white sand beach. And yes, that will include overwater villas. Opening date: March 27, 2024.

Beach House by Silversands, Grenada If you’ve been to the Silversands on Grenada’s Grand Anse Beach, you know it’s one of the most stunning properties in the Caribbean – period. Now, it’s expanding, with a second Silversands-branded hotel called Beach House set to debut with 28 rooms on Portici Beach on the island’s southern tip. Opening date: 1Q 2024.

The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai Yes, there is finally an EDITION hotel (you have to use all caps when you refer to it) in the Caribbean, set in the still-mysterious but highly-intriguing Kanai development, which also includes the new St Regis Riviera Maya, which opened its doors at the beginning of 2023. The new EDITION has 182 rooms, five dining concepts and a beach club, with a lagoon-style pool and a striking perch in the mangroves. In short, it’s EXCITING. Already open

Westin Beach Resort, St Thomas The $350 million rebuild of St Thomas’ legendary Frenchman’s Reef complex is complete, and the result is a two-resort complex (there’s also an Autograph Collection hotel called Buoy Haus) that’s a massive new addition to a destination that has been at the forefront of the Caribbean’s tourism revival. Already open

Iberostar Grand Aruba An exciting new addition to the Eagle Beach area of Aruba, the new Iberostar (the first ever in the Dutch Caribbean) will be an all-suite hotel with 240 units in a plum perch at the edge of Eagle Beach. Notably, it will be an EP hotel, not an all-inclusive resort. Opening date: Oct. 23, 2024

Royalton CHIC Antigua Fresh of the success of its Royalton Antigua resort, Blue Diamond Resorts is opening a second Royalton property on the island, this time with its elevated CHIC brand. Royalton CHIC will be an adults-only all-inclusive, with 235 rooms, five bars, seven restaurants, a spa and the energetic, adult-friendly vibe that’s the signature of the CHIC brand (Antigua will be the fourth CHIC-branded resort in the wider Caribbean). Opening date: Spring 2024

The new Kimpton Grand Roatan.

Kimpton Grand Roatan The island of Roatan in the Bay Islands of Honduras has long had a cult following among Caribbean aficionados for its laid-back, eco-fun vibe. But it’s never had an International branded hotel — until now. Kimpton is the perfect first entry, though, with the brand’s long history of blending in and engaging with its local environment. The new Kimpton Grand Roatan is a sparkling property, with 119 rooms and suites, a terrific wellness program and a vibe that fits right in with this beloved island. Already open

Almare, a Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive Resort, Isla Mujeres While the hotel’s name may be bigger than the island itself, Almare will be a significant new property for Isla Mujeres, a place where golf carts abound and the vibe is all about low-key beach cool. Part of Marriott’s rapidly-exanding All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, it’s a 106-room, boutique-style getaway with a beach club, a rooftop pool and an overall stunning look.
