The first JSX flight touches down in Abaco.

Semi-private airline JSX has launched its first-ever flights to The Bahamas.

The airline has inaugurated its new route between Miami Opa-Locka airport and Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

The flights are operating up to five days a week between Miami and Abaco.

“With the launch of JSX’s new route to Marsh Harbour, ease of travel, time and overall comfort add to the luxury experience we want to offer our visitors. The Abacos are a world-class paradise vacation destination, and it is only fitting that we have new and exciting options for getting here,” said John Pinder, Parliamentary Secretary in The Bahamas’ Ministry of Tourism.

JSX’s unique model includes 30-seat, all-business-class jets. The service is also offering same-plane-through flights between Westchester County, NY and Marsh Harbour, and one-stop flights between Dallas and Marsh Harbour.

“Aggressively growing air stop over arrivals, while continually engaging new source markets continue to rank high among our key organisational priorities,” said Dr Kenneth Romer, deputy director general and acting director of aviation. “Abaco’s post-Dorian tourism recovery is impressive, and we are fully committed to not only increasing airlift but also leveraging ownership opportunities for local stakeholders and entrepreneurs.”
