The highly-anticipated new Six Senses resort in Grenada will be opening its doors next spring, Caribbean Journal has learned.
Six Senses La Sagesse, the first-ever Caribbean resort for the sought-after, wellness-focused luxury brand, will debut on the island’s La Sagesse Beach in May 2024, the property confirmed.
The boutique-style resort will have 56 “private pool” suites joined by 15 villas — with no building higher than a palm tree, as Six Senses puts it.
Every suite will have its own private plunge pool, with open-plan bedrooms and construction focused on natural, renewable and repurposed materials. Suites are in either beachfront or hillside settings.
The dining program will anchored by a restaurant called SeaFire, with a raw bar and a wood-fire grill, joined by an all-day eatery called Callaloo and a poolside bar called Panquai Breeze — featuring Brazilian churrasco and a selection of Grenadian rums. The property will also have a cafe called Scoop.
The Six Senses brand is all about wellness, and the resort will include a signature Six Senses Spa set over two floors, with a gym and a yoga pavilion (including 24-hour access).
That’s along with a hammam, treatment rooms and a menu focusing on high-tech and high-touch therapies, along with innovations like biohacking, sleep tracking and a range of three-to-seven-night personalized programs.
The spa will also include a panoramic sauna, a hot pool, a cold plunge pool and a Kneipp therapy pool.
It’s a major new brand for an island that has been developing as one of the Caribbean’s hottest new luxury destinations, from legendary properties like the Spice Island Beach Resort to the new, ultra-luxe Silversands hotel.
The resort is also a new addition to La Sagesse, a stretch of sand that has always been among the most beloved beaches on the island (and home to another, small, boutique hotel called the La Sagesse Beach Hotel).
Six Senses, which is part of IHG Hotels and Resorts, has 23 hotels around the world. The brand has another Caribbean property currently in development on the island of Grand Bahama.
