Curacao Hotels Keep Filling Up

Hotels in Curacao continue to see strong growth as the island beats its tourism records, according to new data from the Curacao Hotel and Tourism Association. 

Hotel occupancy in Curacao was 72.7 percent in October, 2.7 percentage points higher than in October 2022, according to new data provided by analytics firm STR. 

Average daily rates were $210.73 on the island last month, a 9.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year. RevPar, or revenue per available room, was $153.23, a 13.7 percent increase compared to last year.

Curacao just announced that it had topped 500,000 annual visitors so far in 2023, an all-time record for the Dutch Caribbean island. 

In a statement, Curacao Hotel and Tourism Association interim managing director Jim Hepple said the organization was “happy Curacao’s hotels continued to show a strong performance leading into the winter season.”

For the year, hotel occupancy is averaging 72 percent, almost two percentage points higher than in 2022. 

That is higher than the 65.3 percent average for the wider Caribbean, according to STR.
