Another day, another Frontier Airlines flight to Cancun. The fast-growing carrier has restarted another nonstop route to the Mexican Caribbean hotspot, this time with daily nonstop service from Detroit.

Detroit-Cancun flights are now operating once every day, with intro fares starting as low as $89, according to the company.

“As winter prepares to move in, now is the time to start planning a warm-weather escape for some fun in the Mexican sun,” said Josh Flyr, vice president for network and operations design at Frontier Airlines. “. “Our growth in Detroit, including daily service to Cancun, means even more ‘Low Fares Done Right’ for Michiganders who are eager for more travel options to a growing roster of destinations.”

As we’ve reported in the past, no carrier has added more flights to Cancun since the pandemic than Frontier, which is responding for the continued travel demand for the Yucatan’s tourism capital.

Indeed, passenger traffic continues to surge at Cancun International Airport, the primary air hub for the Mexican coastal state of Quintana Roo (although another airport in the area is opening soon and drawing interest from US carriers like United).
