It’s been one of the hemisphere’s most popular destinations since the pandemic: Cancun on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, the Western Caribbean’s hotspot for large all-inclusive resorts, flowing tequila and unrivaled Mexican hospitality.

No airline has been adding more flights to the destination in the last few years than Frontier, which just launched another nonstop route to Cancun this week, this time from Chicago Midway International Airport — offering another escape from Chicago’s blistering winters.

The new daily nonstop flight has kicked off with fares as low as $79, according to Frontier.

“As colder weather blows into the Windy City, Frontier is thrilled to offer those across Chicagoland the opportunity to escape to the sunny beaches and exciting attractions of Cancun,” said Josh Flyr, vice president, network and operations design, Frontier Airlines. “Our continued growth in Chicago is allowing Frontier the ability to offer more consumers greater access to our ‘Low Fares Done Right.’”

Since the pandemic, Frontier has made Cancun a major focus, launching a wave of new nonstop routes to the Mexican Caribbean destination from a host of US cities.

That is part of what has been a broader expansion push for the airline in the wider Caribbean region.
