Secret Bay in Dominica.

It’s the undisputed luxury leader on the island of Dominica: the Secret Bay resort.

But the hotel, which put Dominica on the map for luxury travelers when it debuted a decade ago, isn’t just luxe — it’s also sustainable.

For the fourth year in a row, Secret Bay has achieved re-certification from Green Globe, which evaluates hotels for their sustainability practices.

“We continue to wear this accolade with immense pride, knowing that we not only represent the finest in luxury but also the pinnacle of eco-conscious hospitality,” the hotel said in a statement.

It’s part of a broader focus at the resort, which says it views guests “not just as travelers, but as partners in our sustainability narrative.”

That ranges from paperless check-in to water bottle fill-up stations to a comprehensive focus on local sourcing in its dining program.

All of the resort’s architecture aims to “exist harmoniously with the surrounding landscape,” the property says.
