Riu Hotels and Resorts is opening a brand-new all-inclusive resort near Montego Bay, Jamaica next year, Caribbean Journal has confirmed.

The new Riu Palace Aquarelle will be set on White Bay Beach in Falmouth, part of an area that has become “greater Montego Bay.”

Falmouth, the historic town in the Trelawny Parish, has become increasingly popular for visitors, both as a cruise destination and a home for large resorts like the Royalton Blue Waters (that resort will soon debut a new adults-only property called Hideaway).

The new Riu Palace will have a total of 700 rooms, with four swimming pools, a children’s pool with waterslides and Riu’s popular Splash Water World concept, a water park that the company has been opening at its properties across the region.

That’s along with a wellness center with a fully-equipped gym.

Dining concepts will include 24-hour all-inclusive options, ranging from a buffet with live cooking stations (and a jerk station); four different a la carte restaurants and 24-hour snack service.

And yes, rooms will include Riu’s famous en-suite liquor dispensers.

The Aquarelle will be Riu’s seventh hotel in Jamaica, joining existing resorts in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Negril.

Jamaica is in the midst of its best-ever season for tourism arrivals, buoyed by a growing hotel pipeline on the north coast of the country.
