The island of Cozumel off the Caribbean coast of Mexico has been one of the Western Caribbean’s most popular destinations since the onset of the pandemic.
And with demand continuing to grow, American Airlines has announced plans to add more daily flights to the island.
Beginning in Jan. 8, American will be running two daily flights between Dallas-Fort Worth and Cozumel, a doubling of service that will operate through April 3, 2024.
American is operating the service on Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
It’s part of a broader increase in airlift across the Mexican Caribbean, concentrated in the white-hot tourism market of Cancun.
