La Compagnie operates all-business-class flights between the New York and Europe. Now it's coming to the Caribbean.

La Compagnie, which operates 100 percent business-class flights from New York to France and Italy, is planning what amounts to a test-run in the Caribbean.

The company has partnered with travel agency E. Clarke Travel to launch a new Caribbean vacation program that includes all-business-class flights to St Maarten.

The partnership, called Travel in Style Journeys, will be providing clients with roundtrip service from Newark Liberty International Airport and St Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport.

The flights will operate once weekly on Sundays, with service set to begin on Nov. 26 and run through April 14, 2024.

Travelers need to book full packages: that means seven-night vacations at luxury hotels and villas in St Maarten and nearby islands including Anguilla and St Barth; packages will include transfers to the other two islands.

Partner hotels range from Le Barthelemy in St Barth to La Samana and the Grand Case Beach Club in St Martin, among others. WIMCO, the region’s leading villa provider, is also a preferred partner.

“These new flights to St. Maarten are an exciting development for La Compagnie as they mark our official entry into the Caribbean market,” said La Compagnie CEO, Christian Vernet. “With leisure travel expected to remain strong, we’re thrilled to partner with Travel in Style Journeys to offer an effortless path to some of the destination’s most sought-after islands.”

La Compagnie will operate the flights on A321neo aircraft, with a total of 76 seats — all of which will have lie-flat beds, state-of-the-art tech, free W-Fi, amenity kits and menus by Michelin-starred chefs.

“We, at E. Clarke Travel, are always looking for ways to better serve our clients,” said E. Clarke Travel CEO, Wahid Essafi. “With Travel In Style Journeys and La Compagnie, we are creating a corridor of comfort and trust to bring our existing clients as well as new clients from New York to Sint Maarten and beyond.”

While the service is only available as part of packages booked through E. Clarke Travel, it could signal a broader entry for the airline to the Caribbean market.
