As tourism to the island continues to heat up, Barbados is set for another lift with an expansion by JetBlue Airways this fall, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Beginning Nov. 1, JetBlue will be adding a second weekly flight between Boston and Barbados, meaning service will be operating on both Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The airline will also be maintaining its second daily flight between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Barbados through February 2024.

“We are excited about the prospect of the continued double daily departures from JFK,” stated Eusi Skeete, US Director, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. “This increased capacity has the potential to add significant capacity out of the Tri-State area in what promises the busy winter season. Our strong collaborative approach with JetBlue has been integral to the results we are now seeing, and we couldn’t be happier to continue to build on this longstanding partnership.”

Barbados is readying for its uber-popular Crop Over event, one of the Caribbean’s premier summer festivals.

“We are happy to see that our overall growth strategy for the New England area has been paying off, as indicated by the addition of this brand-new midweek fight out of Boston,” Skeete said. “This increase in capacity is by no means a small feat, which is indicative both of the effectiveness of our efforts as well as JetBlue’s commitment to Barbados.”
