Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville brand has just opened its newest Caribbean all-inclusive resort: the new Margaritaville Beach Resort Riviera Maya, the first adults-only resort in the company’s Island Reserve portfolio.

The new adults-only resort has 355 rooms, all of which are suites, along with nine eateries and bars, a 10,000-square-foot spa.

“We’re delighted to welcome our first guests to Margaritaville Beach Resort Riviera Maya,” said Grecia Lopez, General Manager. “The world-class all-inclusive resort offers the ultimate in adults-only escapes, inviting guests to indulge in five-star global dining, unparalleled service, luxurious amenities, spectacular entertainment, unparalleled views, and so much more.”

The Margaritaville signatures are all here, like JWB Steakhouse and Frank & Lola’s; there are also some new concepts, including Far Side of the World, a Pacific Rim-inspired eatery; and the new Salted Rim Margarita Bar and Lounge.

In a first, Margaritavile has opened the only LandShark Brewery in Mexico, with an oceanfront brewery and restaurant with Landshark lagers brewed right on site.

There’s also a 10,000-square-foot St. Somewhere Spa, with unique treatments like watermelon basil vodkatini pedicures and gingerita body scrubs, accompanied by a high-tech 2,000-square-foot fitness center called Fins Up.

The rooms are diverse: there are 13 categories in all, from the Luxury Paradise Suite with a private swim-up pool to the highest category, the Coral Reefer Signature Suite.

In keeping with the big trend among all-inclusives, the new Margaritaville has a major focus on experiences, from pool parties to mixology classes to Caribbean-style parades.

The new adults-only resort joins existing Island Reserve collection all-inclusive resorts in the Riviera Cancun and the Cap Cana enclave of Punta Cana.

The resort, as with its sister properties in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, is the product of an alliance with Karisma Hotels and Resorts.

It’s the second Margaritaville-branded resort to open in the Caribbean this year, following the March debut of the new Margaritaville Beach Resort on Ambergris Caye in Belize (that property is not all-inclusive, however).
