Hyatt Is Opening a New All-Inclusive Resort Near Cancun

By: Alexander Britell - June 2, 2023

Hyatt’s rapid expansion into the all-inclusive space is continuing with plans to debut another luxury resort in the Caribbean later this year under its Secrets brand.

The new Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres will be set in Costa Mujeres, an increasingly popular destination that has been dubbed the “New Cancun.”

Costa Mujeres, set just 12 miles north in Cancun, is now home to a large number of all-inclusives from brands like Riu, Palladium and Planet Hollywood, among others.

The new Secrets, set to open “by the end of 2023,” according to Hyatt, will be set on a white-sand beach with access to one of the world’s largest barrier reefs.

The 509-suite resort will have nine different dining concepts, including six eateries, a buffet, a cafe and a grill, along with what Secrets is calling one of the largest wine cellars in the Mexican Caribbean.

Costa Mujeres has become an all-inclusive hotspot with new resorts like the Grand Palladium, above.

“Demand for luxury, all-inclusive experiences in Mexico from guests, members, customers and owners remains high. We are leveraging this demand by thoughtfully expanding our brand footprint in new and existing destinations, building on our growth momentum and driving value for current and future owners,” said Javier Coll, group president, global business development and innovation, Inclusive Collection, Hyatt.

Every suite will feature handmade local art, furnished with locally-sourced materials; the resort will have a Preferred Club as well, with extra touches including swim-out suites, exclusive access to a private lounge and an oceanfront beach club.

“Mexico has been a cornerstone of our development success, and we understand there is great opportunity for further growth in the region. Working hand-in-hand with our owners, we are eager to continue setting the bar for the luxury all-inclusive segment with the planned opening of Secrets Playa Blanca Mujeres,” Coll said.
