The Newest Luxury Resort in the Dominican Republic Is Now Open

The Dominican Republic is now home to its most anticipated new luxury resort in years: the new wellness-focused Premier Club at Casa de Campo in La Romana. The new resort-within-a-resort is the first phase of a $90 million expansion for the legendary resort. 

The 58 new rooms overlook the golf course, with new tech and amenities, and now include what just might be the biggest story: a new wellness center, however, positioned as the country’s next big spa destination, which held its ribbon cutting this week and will fully open on July 1. 

The wellness center has 18,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, with a state-of-the-art facilities including a hydrothermal circuit with a sauna, steam room, vitality pool, cold plunge, laconic loungers and an outdoor spa pool.

There are 13 treatment rooms, all with hands-on experiences, therapies and high-tech treatments like JetPeel facials, binaural acoustic and dynamic stimulation and triple detox therapies using plasma and light. 

“It is a one-of-a-kind facility,” Jason Kycek, senior Vice President at Casa de Campo, told Caribbean Journal.

As for the Premier Club, it is a mix of junior suites and premier suites, all with full-size premium wet bars, Kohler-accessorized bathrooms and amenity fixtures and selections of artisanal coffees and teas, among others.

There is also a large new presidential suite, with three bedrooms and a private office, kitchen and even a separate staff entrance.  

The multi-phase project at Casa de Campo will continue with more new suites, two new restaurants, a new recreational area for kids and teenagers, a bar, a grill and a pair of new pools.

The resort is also building a new golf clubhouse overlooking the Teeth of the Dog course, with a new pro shop, a sports bar and an “elegant” eatery. 

The result is another level of resort for a property that has always been one of the most complete places to stay in the Caribbean, anchored by a five-course golf portfolio that is totally unmatched in the wider Caribbean.
