Punta Cana.

There could soon be another way to fly from the United States to the Dominican Republic.

Fast-expanding carrier Arajet is planning to launch flights between the Dominican Republic and the United States.

That will come once the Dominican Republic completes the signing of its Open Skies Treaty with the US, according to the company.

Arajet continues to expand its network within the Caribbean, now flying to destinations including Aruba, St Maarten, Curacao and Jamaica, among others.

Arajaet has already operated more than 2,500 flights and carried over 180,000 passengers since starting up last year.

The company also plans to double its fleet to 10 planes by the end of this year.
