There’s a new way to cruise from New York to the islands of The Bahamas.

MSC Cruises has launched a new homeport at New York’s Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, meaning the line will now be operating year-round cruises to the region out of the city.

MSC’s Meraviglia will be sailing a combination of seven and 11-night sailings that include both Nassau and the company’s MSC Marine Reserve private destination in The Bahamas.

In August, MSC will also be sailing five and six-night sailings from New York to Bermuda.

“When we chose New York as the next step in our North American expansion, we knew that MSC Meraviglia would be the perfect ship, given her versatility and offerings for a wide variety of climates,” said Rubén Rodríguez, President of MSC Cruises USA. “We’re thrilled to give guests from the Northeast a direct link to our private destination—Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve—which is part of our fantastic itineraries to The Bahamas.”

The 1,036-foot-long, 213-foot-tall ship has 19 decks and carries more than 5,700 guests.

That includes 10 kinds of staterooms, 20 bars, 12 eateries, indoor and outdoor pools and seven different shows in its Broadway Theater.
