American Airlines Is Adding More Flights to St Kitts This Summer

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 14, 2023

American Airlines has added more flights for the upcoming St Kitts Music Festival and the broader summer season.

The carrier is expanding airlift to the island for the highly-anticipated event, which runs June 22-24.

The airline has added additional nonstop flights between June 21 and June 25, part of a larger expansion that will include a second daily nonstop flight from Miami to St Kitts between Aug. 15 and Sept. 5.

“Over the past few months, my team and I have worked assiduously to rebuild our tourism industry, which accounts for approximately 40 percent of our nation’s GDP,” said St Kitts Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson. “As we look towards the future, our strategy for increasing tourism’s impact is built on several pillars that include increasing stay-over arrivals through increased investment in our accommodations sector, diversifying the tourism product and building airlift capacity.”

St Kitts recently sent a delegation to the Routes Americas conference in Chicago, in a bid to expand its airlift network.

“We engaged several carriers to discuss the options for new and expanded routes with the aim of transforming St. Kitts into a year-round destination,” Henderson said.
