Upstart carrier Arajet is adding more flights between the Dominican Republic and Jamaica, citing surging demand for the route.

Arajet first launched the route between Santo Domingo and Kingston last November.

Now, the carrier will be ramping up service from two weekly flights to four.

The next idea, officials say, would be to launch a tourist ferry between Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, although that project would likely be rather far off.

Arajet continues to expand its regional network in the Caribbean.
