Richard Branson’s Virgin Voyages cruise brand is adding another new destination in the Caribbean: Antigua and Barbuda.

The fast-growing cruise hotspot will begin receiving calls from Virgin Voyages in January 2024, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The news was revealed on the sidelines of the Seatrade Cruise Global conference in Fort Lauderdale.

According to Juan Trescastro, VP of Global Destinations at Virgin Voyages, Antigua will be a new stop for the brand’s soon-to-debut ship, Brilliant.

The ship will be staying in Antigua until 10 PM during each stop.

“This will significantly increase the on-island spend with these calls,” the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority said in a statement.

Brilliant will be calling on Antigua every other week, with a total of eight calls in the 2024 season.
