British Airways just kicked off its first-ever flights to Guyana, a destination that continues to see new routes from both North America and across the pond.

The airline is now operating a new direct route from London Gatwick to Guyana, with flights twice weekly via Saint Lucia.

That includes service on Thursdays and Sundays.

British Airways is operating the route on Boeing 777-200 aircraft with three cabins: Club, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller.

The flight departs London at 11:35, landing at 7:50 PM local time.

The launch is one of two new routes to the region, along with new service to Aruba via Antigua
