WorldHotels Eyes Caribbean Expansion

By: Caribbean Journal Staff

By Alexander Britell

“The Caribbean is high on our list,” WorldHotels President Gregory Habeeb tells Caribbean Journal.

And with a portfolio of independent hotels in 200 different destinations globally, the region is a natural fit for expansion for WorldHotels, which was acquired by BWH Hotel Group in 2019.

To learn more about the company and its goals for growth, Caribbean Journal Invest caught up with Gregory Habeeb, president of WorldHotels.

What exactly is “WorldHotels” and where does the brand family fit in today’s hospitality offerings

WorldHotelsTM is a collection of the finest independent hotels in over 200 iconic destinations around the world, expertly curated to inspire unique, life enriching experiences that connect people and places. These hotels are truly unique, offering guests an immersive and experiential stay in some of the world’s most desired destinations.

Initially established in Germany 53 years ago, WorldHotels was acquired by BWH Hotel Group® in 2019, and today offers an incredible portfolio of upscale to luxury hotels and resorts around the globe.

There are four sub-brands within WorldHotels – what makes each unique and appealing to guests

WorldHotels receives a lot of interest from hoteliers who are seeking to maintain their independence while also being supported by a global brand. That’s exactly what each of our four Collections – WorldHotels Luxury, WorldHotels Elite, WorldHotels Distinctive and WorldHotels Crafted – can offer.

Each collection exhibits its own personality and style to appeal to the needs of today’s traveler.

Iconic in nature, WorldHotels Luxury properties are recognized in their coveted destinations for their exceptional service, superior accommodations and refined amenities. WorldHotels Elite properties are carefully selected, stylish hotels with a local flair and first-class service, for a memorable experience in some of the world’s finest locations.

A collection of established hotels in the most vibrant neighborhoods, WorldHotels Distinctive properties offer a unique, welcoming and attainable stay for the discerning traveler. The newest collection – WorldHotels Crafted – appeals to guests who crave creativity, immersive experiences and ingenuity, and seamless, humble and expert service that create an emotional connection.

Why is WorldHotels looking toward the Caribbean for growth?

In recent months we have expanded our presence internationally, entering new markets and welcoming new hotels in destinations across USA, Japan, Greece, Spain and Canada, among many more. We see a tremendous opportunity for WorldHotels to continue to grow globally and the Caribbean is high on our list. I

t’s a highly desirable vacation and corporate incentive destination for travelers from around the world.  Because we have hotels under some of our other brands that have been operating in the Caribbean for many years, WorldHotels is an attractive option for hoteliers dedicated to operating hotels that specialize in unique luxury and lifestyle and who want to align with a brand that offers valuable support in the region and proven success with driving revenue.

What benefits do you bring to existing (and new construction?) hotels?

Each WorldHotels property receives the benefits of being part of BWH Hotel Group, a global powerhouse in the hotel industry. Owners and operators of WorldHotels properties enjoy the perfect balance of creative freedom and a trusted alliance and partnership. Every hotel is provided with access to unparalleled systems and support through BWH Hotel Group, gaining access to the company’s award-winning rewards programs, robust digital presence, premier partnerships and industry-leading global sales team. WorldHotels is focused on driving superior revenue to our hoteliers, expanding our portfolio of offerings in premier global destinations, and providing exceptional travel experiences to our guests.
