At This Caribbean All-Inclusive, A New Way to Enjoy the Water

By: - March 3rd, 2023
All-Inclusive Caribbean Kayaking

On my right are the plunge-pool villas of the Hammock Cove resort. On my left, the green hills of one of the most beautiful corners of Antigua. The Caribbean Sea is straight ahead through the mouth of the bay.

And yet I can’t stop looking down.

This is the hottest thing in Caribbean watersports: the transparent or see-through kayak, and it’s one of the included amenities at the island’s celebrated Hammock Cove Resort and Spa.

And they really are a totally different kayaking experience, one that retains the physical rigor and enjoyment of traditional kayaking but adds a dynamic new visual element.

There’s something profound about seeing the sea floor as you paddle, peering down in search of waving seagrass and tropical fish as you paddle around Antigua’s turquoise waters.

All-Inclusive Caribbean Kayaking

And the bay around Hammock Cove is the perfect marine playground, protected but vast, the ideal place to enjoy a morning or afternoon of transparent kayaking.

Even better? The adults-only Hammock Cove also has transparent paddleboards, offering up the same visual experience but on two legs.

It’s just another reason why this boutique all-inclusive resort has has become the most sought-after place to stay in Antigua.

All-Inclusive Caribbean Kayaking
The transparent kayaks are all part of the all-inclusive watersports program.

That’s thanks to a combination of things, including some of the coolest rooms in the Caribbean — think private infinity plunge pools, broad pool decks with fully-stocked wet bars, stunning bathrooms with huge glass-enclosed showers and bedrooms with fully-integrated bluetooth sound systems and a sleek modern Caribbean aesthetic.

Then there is the food and beverage program, expertly conceived by star chef Marco Festini, a culinary program that even extends to the Caribbean’s top all-inclusive rum tasting bar.

It all adds up to a singular travel experience, the kind of all-inclusive concept that feels bespoke, that feels endlessly luxurious.

Everywhere where you look here, you’ll find an inspired detail, a touch aimed at making your stay unique.

Even if you look down.
