This Riviera Maya Luxury Resort Has a New GM

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 19, 2023

The Fairmont Mayakoba luxury resort in the Riviera Maya has named a new general manager, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The Fairmont Mayakoba has named Jack van Teeffelen as its new general manager, after having served as interim general manager since last fall.

Van Teeffelen’s experience includes stops at the Savoy in London, the Fairmont San Francisco and the St Regis in New York, among other top hotels.

The appointment comes after a recent renovation at the resort.

“As we celebrate the return of travel in its full capacity and debut our recent renovations, I look forward to the opportunity to expand my experience at this world-class resort,” says van Teeffelen. “In my four months serving as the interim general manager here, I grew a deep love for the property, the amazing team members and the beautiful location. I am excited to continue working alongside this team to further grow Fairmont Mayakoba’s reputation as one of Riviera Maya’s leading resorts.”
