The highly-anticipated debut of the first true theme park in the Caribbean is set for next month.

On March 15, the new Katmandu Park will open to the public in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The first Caribbean outpost of the popular Katmandu Park in Mallorca, Katmandu has a range of family-friendly attractions and “immersive media-based” entertainment.

That ranges from full-scale rides to a pair of mini-golf courses to four different dining concepts.

The project is the brainchild of Spanish hotel giant Melia and entertainment firm Falcon’s Beyond, who have also partnered on the new Falcon’s Resort by Melia hotel, which opened its doors at the end of last year.

The new all-inclusive resort is designed around the park, with guests receiving special access to Katmandu Park, among other amenities.

“Katmandu Park represents the innovation and quality of new tourism concepts in the Caribbean,” said Dominican Republic Tourism Minister David Collado. “It is now a reality for the Dominican Republic, filled with luxury, fun and unique experiences.”
