Frontier Is Launching Puerto Rico-Cancun Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 6, 2023

Ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines is launching a new route between two of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations: Cancun, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

The new route, the only one of its kind between the two destinations, will kick off on May 25, 2023, with service operating three times each week.

The new service “significantly expands the options for visitors to the Island,” according to Carlos Mercado Santiago, executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.

It’s part of a recently-announced expansion of service to Puerto Rico for Frontier.

“As we come off of back-to-back record-breaking years for tourism to the Island, we look forward to continuing our momentum and welcoming even more visitors to ‘Live Boricua,’” said a spokesperson for Discover Puerto Rico. “Increased flight offerings, thanks to our partners at Frontier, serve as yet another proof point of the travel industry’s belief in Puerto Rico as an unmatched destination, now and into the future.”
