Caribbean tourism is sizzling: islands across the region are reporting historic levels of tourism arrivals, and that includes a wave of new flights on the way.

Now, one of the top Caribbean carriers is deepening its network in the region.

JetBlue Airways is adding another pair of new daily nonstop flights to the Caribbean, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The New York City-based carrier has already launched sales for a pair of new daily routes: daily service between New York-LaGuardia and Nassau, The Bahamas; and daily service between Newark Liberty and Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The New York-Nassau flights will begin operation on March 30; Newark-Montego Bay flights will begin on June 15.

The Nassau route will be operating year round, while the Montego Bay service will run a seasonal summer schedule.

Both routes are the product of JetBlue’s new “Northeast Alliance” with American Airlines.

“The Northeast Alliance continues to provide us with new opportunities to unlock even more growth potential in New York as we introduce new flying in markets where for too long travelers have had little or no competition,” said Dave Clark, head of revenue and planning at JetBlue.

Both destinations have been among the most popular in the Caribbean in the last year, with renewed tourism recoveries in both The Bahamas and Jamaica.

In another Caribbean expansion, JetBlue is adding a Saturday-only Mint cabin schedule between Newark and Queen Beatrix Airport in Aruba. The Mint flight to Aruba will begin on June 15 as well.

More broadly in the region, the carrier is adding a new daily nonstop flight between Los Angeles and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in addition to daily flights set to begin between New York LaGuardia and Bermuda in May.

Late last year, JetBlue also announced it would be adding more flights to the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao.
