Frontier Airlines has launched a new nonstop route to The Bahamas, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The ultra-low-cost carrier just kicked off a new route between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, The Bahamas.

The new service is operating once weekly, with flights running every Saturday.

“Frontier Airlines is thrilled to become the second largest international carrier at ATL—and the only ultra-low fare carrier providing international service from Atlanta,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial, Frontier Airlines. “We are excited to continue to grow in Atlanta.”

The route is part of a broader Caribbean expansion for Frontier out of Atlanta that includes just-launched service between Atlanta and Kingston, Jamaica.

“We couldn’t be happier to celebrate the official start of this Frontier Airlines expansion,” said Rebecca Francosky, Interim Airport Director of Air Service Development at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. “Consistently offering our passengers additional international connectivity is why ATL remains the busiest and most efficient airport in the world.

Frontier remains one of the fastest-growing airlines in the wider Caribbean region since the beginning of the pandemic.
