There’s a new way to fly from Atlanta to Costa Rica, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Rapidly-expanidng ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines has officially kicked off new nonstop service between Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to San Jose, Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaria International Airport.

The new service is operating three times per week; initially fares are as low as $99, according to Frontier.

“We continue to expand our roster of international flights from Atlanta, bringing even more affordable travel options to area consumers via our ‘Low Fares Done Right,’” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial, Frontier Airlines. “Costa Rica is a hugely popular international destination, and this new service provides a great option for escaping to Central America this winter.”

Frontier has been adding new routes to the Caribbean Basin at a breakneck pace, including a new route from Atlanta to Kingston, Jamaica that just launched last week.

Frontier is now operating flights to 34 nonstop destinations out of Hartsfield-Jackson.

Costa Rica no longer requires testing or proof of vaccination for visitors; the destination removed all of its entry health protocols back in April.
