The BVI’s Beloved Lobster Festival Is Back

It’s been 10 years since a group of crustacean enthusiasts assembled on the far-off British Virgin Island of Anegada.

And now, a decade later, the Anegada Lobster Festival remains the Caribbean’s premier celebration of all things, well, lobster.

The three-day event focuses on Anegada’s plentiful supply of lobster, a bounty that’s led to the island being called the Caribbean capital of lobster

Potter’s by the Sea in Anegada, one of the island’s legendary spots for lobster.

This year’s event will see 10 local restaurants participating, with live bands and top local DJs.

The culinary agenda is broad, with a slate of unique lobster dishes (including everything from lobster fritters to lobster ice cream) and even an island-wide scavenger hunt.

This year will also see the return of the festival’s popular pub crawl on Nov. 25, featuring many of the island’s top hot spots, from Potter’s by the Sea to the Anegada Reef and Cow Wreck, among others.

The BVI is also ensuring that it’s easy to get into and around Anegada, with regular charter boats, ferries, taxis, planes and shuttles available for attendees.
