Hilton just held its grand opening for the new ROK Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica.

The hotel, part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is expected to inject new energy into the city’s downtown.

The 168-room hotel, which is owned by PanJam Investment Limited, is managed by Highgate.

The property, which includes 47 suites, is the first-ever Tapestry Collection hotel in the Caribbean.

“ROK Hotel Kingston is an exciting milestone for the growing Tapestry Collection as the brand’s first hotel in the Caribbean,” said Jenna Hackett, global brand head, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. “As each Tapestry by Hilton is designed to foster a genuine connection to the destination, ROK Hotel Kingston will provide guests with an authentic stay in Downtown Kingston with access to local art, music, dining and rich island culture. Overlooking the Kingston Waterfront and steps from The National Gallery of Jamaica, the property is in a prime location for travelers to immerse themselves and discover all that the area has to offer.”

The hotel includes a palm-lined rooftop pool, a fitness center and six fully-equipped meeting rooms.

”As part of the capital of Jamaica, Downtown Kingston is the place to be for travelers who want to experience the liveliness of the cultural district of the island,” said Stephen Facey, executive chairman of PanJam Investment Limited. “We look forward to welcoming guests to the hotel to embrace Kingston’s urban roots and Caribbean legacy, while enjoying all the city has to offer from golf, beaches, fine art galleries, a bustling nightlife, colorful markets, and more.”
