New York’s Bemelmans Bar Is Traveling to The Bahamas
For the first time ever, New York’s iconic Bemelmans Bar is hitting the road.
The storied Madison Avenue hangout is “taking” its iconic murals by Ludwig Bemelmans (the creator of Madeline) and its famous cocktails and heading to the Rosewood Baha Mar resort in Nassau for a special event next week.
Inspired by the Jazz greats who perform often at Bemelmans, the Jazz Cats are performing classic standards and more from the Great American Songbook.
Bemelmans is located at the Carlyle Hotel in New York, also part of the Rosewood portfolio.
The Bahamian version will be located at the Conservatory on the lobby level at the Rosewood Baha Mar.
The pop-up will run from Tuesday, July 26 to Saturday, July 30, open nightly from 6 PM to 10 PM.
That will include a slate of cocktails, ranging from the Bobby’s Manhattan, named for American singer and Carlyle favorite Bobby Short, to Ludwig’s Bunny Negroni.
The Rosewood Baha Mar’s Cafe Boulud is launching a special menu for the event, with a four-course tasting by Chef Antoine Baillargeon.
