By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 20, 2022

Disney Cruise Line’s newest cruise ship has officially arrived at Port Canaveral in Florida to begin series of cruises to The Bahamas.

The new ship will be offering three and four-night itineraries to The Bahamas, with stops at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

The first sailing from Port Canaveral will be on July 14, stationed at the Port’s Cruise Terminal 8.

The liquefied-natural-gas-powered Wish is the first of what will be three new ships joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet over the next three years.

Port Canaveral is the only cruise port in North America that supports fueling of liquefied natural gas-powered ships.

“We have anticipated this homecoming of the Disney Wish for some time and know that our entire Port community is excited to have her sailing from our Port,” said Port CEO Capt. John Murray. “We are proud of the longstanding partnership we have with Disney Cruise Line, and the arrival of the Disney Wish adds to the growing number of impressive cruise ships providing high quality guest experiences from our Port.”

The ship, slightly larger than Disney Fantasy, has 1,250 staterooms.
