Puerto Rico continues to see record-breaking air traffic numbers.

The island’s primary airport, Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, reported passenger traffic of just under 944,000 in May, representing a 21.6 percent jump compared to the same month in 2019, before the pandemic.

That was buoyed by a 25.8 percent in traffic from within the United States, according to data from ASUR, which manages the airport.

For the year, Puerto Rico’s major airport is reporting passenger traffic of 4.22 million, a 10.3 percent jump over the first five months of 2019.

International traffic to Puerto Rico “remained weak,” according to ASUR. however.
