Hyatt’s Unbound Collection has debuted its first hotel in the Caribbean Basin: the new Hotel Hotel La Compañía, set in the heart of Panama City’s charming old city

The new hotel in the Casco Viejo quarter is anchored by a building first used as a Jesuit convent in 1688.

It’s an “architectural masterpiece centered around three periods in the hotel’s history – French Colonial, Spanish Colonial, and Beaux-Arts,” the company says.

“The opening of Hotel La Compañía marks the end of a seven-year restoration project where expert historians, craftsmen, and architects from around the world came together to bring a story-worthy experience to our region,” said General Manager Fidel Reyes. “We look forward to welcoming guests visiting Panama for both business and pleasure to experience our guestrooms, restaurants, and cultural programming.”

The hotel has a total of 88 rooms, se across three wings, each paying tribute to a different architectural period.
