As part of a new sustainability push, Club Med has announced plans to offer Beyond Meat plant-based products at its all-inclusives.

The program will kick off in the Caribbean at Club Med’s newest resort in the region, Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda in the Dominican Republic.

It will include both the Beyond Burger and Beyond Sausage products, according to the company, making it the first company in the Caribbean to publicly offer them.

While Beyond’s products appeal to vegan consumers, Club Med says it’s also greener — with production of the Beyond Burger using 93 percent less water, 93 percent less land and 46 percent less energy than the average 1/4-pound beef burger.

That’s along with a 90-percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

The addition fo Beyond products is part of what the company calls a new “commitment” to social responsibility, including a new organic composting project, the phased removal of all plastic water bottles at some of its resorts and a renewed green energy push.
