Another day, another route to Cancun. Or so it sees.

Cancun International Airport’s rapid airlift expansion amid the pandemic continued this week, with plans by Frontier Airlines to add another two new routes to the destination.

On May 27, Frontier will launch new service from both Houston-George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Tampa International Airport to Cancun.

The new Houston-Cancun flights will run four times each week; Tampa-Cancun service will operate three times per week.

“We are excited to announce additional growth to our international network with flights to Guadalajara and Monterrey, Mexico from Las Vegas,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial, Frontier Airlines. “We are also significantly growing in Philadelphia and Raleigh-Durham as part of this major expansion of service as we get ready for an extremely busy spring and summer travel season. Consumers are ready to travel and we encourage them to take advantage of our ultra-low fares and friendly service to popular destinations across the U.S. and beyond.”

Cancun continues to near pre-pandemic tourism levels, buoyed by strong performance since the onset of Covid.
