Taking the Ferry to Statia Just Got Easier

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 4, 2022

Statia’s new ferry service has now launched e-ticket service, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The Makana ferry, which now operates between St Maarten and Statia, launched operations in December.

And now you can make a reservation online right on the Makana Web site.

The ferry is operated by Blues and Blues Ltrd, thanks to a public grant from the Public Entities of Saba and Statia.

“The completion of the booking engine represents another step of many we are committed to making as we move forward to build a strong, user-friendly and resilient ferry trade between the islands,” said Blues and Blues’ Samuel Connor. “The word ‘Makana’ means gift, and we are committed to giving the very best service we can give.”

The Makana also operates between St Maarten and Saba.
