The Eastern Caribbean island of Dominica has announced a series of major changes to its entry protocols, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The biggest change is that all travelers are now permitted to show proof of a negative antigen test within 48 hours before arrival to Dominica.
Dominica has also removed antigen testing on arrival for vaccinated travelers.
The island has additionally lifted all passenger and schedule limitations for ferry service from islands like Guadeloupe and Martinique.
Dominica Tourism Director Colin Piper said the change to permit antigen testing had been a major demand from potential visitors in both the United States and the French West Indies, who had found difficulty procuring PCR tests in a tight window.
“With the new protocols, lifting of Ferry restrictions and direct American Airline flights, visitor arrivals are expected to increase,” the Discover Dominica Authority said in a statement.
